Residential Geothermal Drilling RigThe K40 Geothermal Drilling Rig comes both assembled and in kit form. The kit costing less than $100,000, makes it the most affordable geothermal drilling rig on the market compared to similar units running at $170,000 and up! The kit can be assembled in less than two weeks and standard maintenance costs are minimal. Assembled the rig is worth almost double the price of the kit, finally some economic relief for the geothermal industry! The K40 has been designed to work inside buildings and restricted access sites. With the best combination of power and stability it is capable of drilling with augers, casings and down the hole hammer rock drills up to 355mm diameter (14”). The unit can be equipped with width adjustable rubber tracks expanding from 725mm (28.5”) to 1000 (39”) and is able to drill 30° side to side. As well as drilling from the horizontal to 3° over vertical. The 62kW (83hp) remote diesel or electric power unit can be up to 100m (330’) from the drilling rig. Two different mast lengths are available with 1.4m (4’7”) and 2.4m (7’10”) strokes.
